Who am I?

I am a truck driver. At least I was for 14 years. I have been delivering pop for over a decade. I have dealt with all kinds of consumers; Restaurants, Convenience stores, Grocery stores, Law offices, National box stores, Ski resorts, Golf courses, Government offices, Oil refineries, Schools, and T.V. stations just to name a few. I was even a limousine driver for a couple of years but that will be a different post.

As a driver you are the face of the company. As such I have had the opportunity to deal with all sorts of people from vastly differing walks of life across the gamit of income levels.

Do I know a lot? Hardly, if anything I have learned I know very little but I am constantly learning. There are opportunities every day. If we can only see them for what they (opportunities) are. For every chance I've noticed, I have missed ten others.

As a truck driver I have dealt with basic to advanced computer systems. We use Intermec handhelds. I use a Windows PC at home, school, and work. I dabble with Linux. I work heavily with an i Series at work.
As a Truck Driver!? How, you ask.
Well my main position at work has changed. My title is now Programmer/Analyst. I still drive a couple of Saturdays a month. So my CDL is current.

I love computers and the internet! Hopefully I can pass on what I have learned. I enjoy writing. I admit I can be a bit lazy, so a fair share of what I have learned are hacks. A quick fix to get the job done. Have I screwed up and crashed a system? Well not quite. Am I a Hacker? Perhaps, but I've been called worse. I won't apologize. I am a Truck Driver.

The nice thing about the beginning is that the field is open. I look forward to your comments and email. I will end on this quote:

"There are few problems that can't be solved with the proper application of High Explosives.. and maybe a computer."- Navy Seals (modified by me)
